Thanks for your interest in Higher Plane, Inc. The following is a brief history of the company.
I have been flying for over 30 years. In fact, my college education centered on aviation, with the goal of
becoming an Air Force pilot. I sustained disqualifying injuries in an airplane accident just eight weeks before starting Officer Training School.
My journey turned in a new direction. While staying involved in aviation as a flight instructor, aircraft
mechanic, and company pilot, I eventually found myself in the world of computerized map-making (digital
cartography.) With the purchase of a large format plotter, my cartographic business added the capability of
printing wall maps for schools and businesses. While exploring some navigation charts published by the
Federal Aviation Administration, I had an idea.
Most of my flying is in the Central Florida area. The airports I frequented were on the south edge of the
Jacksonville Sectional chart. Any flight to the south required a Miami Sectional chart. I had the equipment to plot beautiful planning charts at any size, but my home base was nowhere near the center of the chart. The new idea was to digitally "stitch" together the south portion of one chart with the north half of another. The result was a hybrid "Orlando Sectional Chart." This same idea could be repeated throughout the entire United States. Others in the aviation community loved the idea which ultimately became Higher Plane, Inc in 2003.
The website contains other product which I find interesting and practical. You'll find travel maps
and decorative items, mostly related to large wall plots. We can turn your digital photos into
beautiful canvas prints to decorate your walls or give as a gift. Aeronautical charts can be
customized with mileage circles centered from your home airport. Most items can be
personalized to meet your unique ideas and needs.
We are small enough to keep overhead costs low and customer satisfaction high.
I hope you'll also find this site interesting, even if you're just looking around. We're
always open for new ideas!

Enjoy!
